NYSEG will be on site starting Monday, 5/5, to replace their gas main. NYSEG began this work last fall in Bank Alley. The north-south pedestrian crossing, Bank Alley and State Street intersection, will be closed Monday and Tuesday to pedestrian traffic as the installation of the new gas main continues.
The electrical contractor, Power and Construction Group, will continue to install electrical conduit which will feed the new lighting for the Commons. The electrical work started last week near Home Dairy Alley and will continue east toward Aurora Street. The work will be outside the construction fence, about 8 feet in front of the building front and will not impede pedestrian traffic flow. Temporary orange fencing surrounds the work area to keep pedestrians safe.
Vacri will install the last three utility upgrades to individual buildings over the next week on both the north and south side of the 100 block of E State Street.
The work site is busier now with multiple contractors working together to complete the below grade work. Please remember to look up while you are walking, and to pay attention to the temporary or partial sidewalk closings. There are signs posted to help you navigate your way efficiently and safely through the Commons.
