HOME DAIRY ALLEY
A new telecom duct bank is being installed in Home Dairy Alley. This work also includes correcting surface drainage so that puddles are no longer a problem. The work started on Thursday, 9/29, at the end of Home Dairy Alley, behind Mate’ Factor under the fish. The sidewalk is narrowed and passable. There may be times when the sidewalk is closed temporarily for the safety of pedestrians.
Starting the week of 10/6 or 10/13 Home Dairy Alley will be closed for up to 10 days as the new telecom paving is installed up the alley. Pedestrians will be able to enter the Commons through Center Ithaca or access Green Street through Center Ithaca. Center Ithaca hours are 9:00AM – 5:00PM
The middle of Bank Alley is being prepped for the concrete slab. Once the concrete slab is completely poured, the granite seat walls and planter curbs will be installed then the paving program can begin.
200 BLOCK OF E STATE STREET (FROM AURORA STREET TO THE EAST EDGE OF TROLLEY CIRCLE)
The contractors will continue to prepare the 200 block for the paving program. The second gate way footer, in the north east corner, near the new Simeon’s mural, will be dug on Monday, 9/29. Pedestrian access may be limited until the Apple Harvest Festival on Friday, 10/3. Also on the 200 block, four planting areas will be created, the existing sidewalk will be removed, and the concrete slab and the concrete strip will be poured in front of each building. The concrete slab and strip are similar to the work currently being done in Bank Alley.
