TRAFFIC SIGNALS PROJECT

There is other work happening adjacent to the Commons which is not part of the Commons Repair and Upgrade Project.  This is the Traffic Signals Upgrade Project, currently in Phase 2. Phase I of the Traffic Signals Upgrade was when the signals were installed down west State/MLK and along Buffalo. Phase 2 provides for the full replacement of 5 traffic signals in the downtown of the City of Ithaca. The intersections involved are Court & Cayuga, Court & Tioga, Court & Aurora, and either end of the Commons (Aurora & State/MLK, and Cayuga & State/MLK). The project includes the installation of new mast arm traffic signals and appurtenances, ADA accessible pedestrian signals, new sidewalk curb ramps, intersection pavement milling and resurfacing, and new pavement markings. The project manager for the Traffic Signals Project is Tim Logue, City Transportation Engineer; he can be reached at 274-6535 or tlogue@cityofithaca.org.
