The paving program started Monday with the arrival of the pavers to Bank Alley. The first paver will be in place by Wednesday.
As a sections of Bank Alley are being prepped for the pavers, pedestrians will be rerouted to allow for paver installation. For the next couple days, the west side will be closed from American Crafts to the small alley near Tompkins Trust Building. Tompkins Trust Company, M&T Bank, and Tioga Place will be accessible from Seneca Street. The east side near Chemung Canal Trust, will be open for pedestrian traffic.
At the top of Bank Alley welders continue their work on the steel for the Bernie Milton Pavilion. The pavilion structure will be erected within a week.
The intersection at State and Tioga will be closed periodically while the equipment from Bank Alley is be moved to State St of the Commons. There will be a flagger present to help with pedestrian flow.
