What’s left to do on the 200 block?
Fixed tables and chairs each will be installed (see designer rendering below). The contractor will continue installing pavers from the north sidewalk near Simeon’s moving south to the building front. A planter rail will be installed inside each of the four planter areas (see Commons April 2015 below ), followed by planting soil, then trees, shrubs, and plants.

There are six planter areas on the 100 block. Similar to the phasing on the 200 block, once a planter area is complete, the existing sidewalk will then be removed in front of the buildings in preparation for the concrete slab. The sidewalk will be closed in front of businesses as this important work is done. When possible the work will end in the middle of a door way to maintain access to businesses. In order to keep on schedule, some business may be closed. The contractors will assist apartment tenants leaving and entering their apartment.

With one planter area complete, the removal of the existing sidewalk will begin in front of American Crafts on Monday, 4/13. The work will move east stopping near Mockingbird Paperie.  Signs will be posted directing pedestrian flow.
